Munster has a wonderful cove with a golden, sandy beach and extensive rock pools that provide endless pleasure for children and good snorkelling for parents. A 2-minute drive takes you to Glenmore, a protected, supervised, swimming beach.  Blue Flag is an international award given only to those beaches that meet excellence in safety, amenities, cleanliness and environmental standards. Beaches near South Coast Cottages with Blue Flag Status are Margate, Ramsgate and Marina Beach.

There are also excellent surf and fishing spots all along the coast.

Enjoy walking trails up to 9km long in Mpenjati and Umtamvuna Reserves, and spot riverine and forest birds including Fish Eagle, and also antelope.

The Wild Coast Sun and Casino is only a ten minute drive away, where you can gamble, ramble, golf, horse-ride or enjoy the beach. Its relatively quiet and stunning setting makes it an ideal place for those who want to unwind or simply play free poker or other games in a beach setting.

Between Munster and Glenmore lies an interesting shipwreck, the Nightingale, which was a fishing trawler that ran aground in 1933. Port Edward and TO Strand also have interesting wrecks to investigate.

Other things to see and do are whale and dolphin spotting from the shore or boat, canoeing/kayaking in the sea or rivers, tennis, bowls, squash, horse riding, hiking, mountain biking, and abseiling. Visit a crocodile farm, an exotic bird park, a coffee farm, a Wild West and other museums and numerous arts and craft centres, including pottery, leatherwork, and African arts and crafts. See the coast from the air by taking a microlight, helicopter or light plane flip from Margate Airport.

Take a 20 minute drive north to Margate and Shelly Beach for a wide selection of restaurants, shopping centres, cinemas, amusement centres and night clubs.
